Introduction to Tactical Bolt Rifle Matches

If you’ve never shot a Tactical Bolt Rifle Match before, this clinic will help you learn how. This 2 day clinic is an introduction to shooting our tactical bolt rifle matches, including both long range and steel. On the first day, you’ll shoot long range from 200 to 1,000 yards. On the second day, you’ll engage steel targets ranging from 220 to 550 yards, shooting from a variety of props and obstacles.

Sunday April 16, 2017, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Check-in is Saturday at 7:00 am.

Hosted at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center.

Cost
$140 per shooter. Please note that there are no refunds for cancellations.
Includes range fees, instruction, course material, drinks, and lunch at the end of the clinic on Sunday.

Proper safety for position transitions.
Wind reading techniques.
Course of Fire (COF) procedures.
Techniques for shooting from a variety of props.
Body position and gear.

We will provide coaches to assist you.

Required Equipment
Rifle chambered in 6mm up to .30 caliber. Maximum velocity of 3100 fps.
Tactical rifle scope with ranging reticle and elevation knobs.
150 rounds of ammunition.
Empty Chamber Indicator Flag (You can pick one up during registration for $1.00).
Rifle Sling and some sort of pack to carry all your kit in.
Bipod or pack to shoot from. Rear rest or sand sock.
Note taking gear.
Tools to run your rifle and optic.
Eye and ear protection is mandatory.
Elbow pads are recommended.
Dress for the weather, we will shoot rain or shine. Long pants are recommended.
Sun block.
We walk the entire range so please have your gear mobile and be ready to move.
Bring snacks that you can eat on the go. We will have water available.
Please have your rifle zeroed at 100 yards. All of our drop data is based on a 100 yard zero.

Prerequisites
You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be able to legally own a firearm to participate in this event.
We recommend you attend one of our Long Range practice sessions beforehand. You must be proficient in operating your scope, with ballistics data for 200 to 1,000 yards.
You will need ballistics data (DOPE) for the following distances:

  • Long Range: 200, 300, 425, 500, 600, 800, 900, 1,000 yards
  • Steel: 220, 330, 425, 550 yards

Registration opens on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 6:00 pm Pacific time. Once registration opens, please complete the Online Registration Form. You will receive a response within a few days of your entry request.
